receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE)

RAGE is a multi-ligand, transmembrane receptor, mainly expressed in the lung. RAGE is widely recognised as a key mediator of pathological, chronic lung inflammation and has been implicated in progression and increased severity of lung diseases such as severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis (CF) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
